Traffic ViolationsAh yes, you hear those lovely sirens behind you as you sail down
the highway. Here you were, completely minding your own
business when suddenly a police officer decided to ruin your day.
What did you ever do to him anyway? My guess is absolutely
nothing. Am I right or what? Where does he get off pulling you
over? As he approaches your driver's side window, you scramble
to get out your driver's license and find your registration.
Oh, and possibly even proof of insurance. Now, as you turn to
pass these to him, you should strive to do so with a smile. Be
nice, be polite and offer no attitude. You'll get a more
positive response if you do so. Trust me on this one.
I've avoided several traffic violations this way. What people don't realize is that so much lies in
the attitude. Okay, so you got caught going 70 in a 55.
This is not looking good. The state trooper who pulled you
over will likely give you a traffic violation. However, if you
treat him with respect and be nice, he may not. Remember there
are plenty of opportunities for these guys to pass out traffic
violations. They're more likely to give them to the jerks than
the individuals who're kind to them. It's just a basic law of
mankind. We all like to be treated fairly. As I stated
earlier, I have avoided potential traffic violations simply by
acting civil toward the ones who've pulled me over. One police
officer actually told me this. He complimented me on my
stellar attitude and wished me good day, ticket free. I drove
off with a smile on my face.
