A guarantee of any type is only as good as the person or business offering it.

Many new shoppers come onto the internet each day.  The web can seem a bit scary if you are not experienced or if you believe some of the stories circulated by the media.  The fact of the matter is that anyone's best defense against being scammed is using common sense.  If you clicked onto this page, you are interested in protecting yourself from fraud or being deceived.  I understand since I'm an online shopper myself.

First and foremost, lets use common sense.  These simple suggestions will help protect you.

1. Use a safe means of payment.  PayPal is safe and the business never sees your credit card or banking information.  Credit cards are safe and along with PayPal, the buyer always has a means to reverse payment if he or she has a legitimate complaint such as non-delivery.
2. The lowest priced site isn't always the safest.  A real business must make a profit.  Is a business policy plainly published?

4. Does the web have an about us page so you can get an idea of what kind of business you will be dealing with?

I'm sure you get the idea.  Beware of sites who fail to publish the above information.  If you are still in doubt about a site, check the registration of a website.  click here  The results show the date of original registration and ownership which gives you an idea of how long a site has really been around.  If it shows no info and is listed as private, you might be concerned why an owner would hide their ownership?
